Cosmetic Injections
Cosmetic injections are used to relax muscles. Dentists are able to use these in the treatment of any health or aesthetic problem a customer may be experiencing across the facial and neck.
Cosmetic injections relax the muscles under the surface and help to fade the hyperdynamic lines in the skin caused by muscles that are not fully relaxed. These hyperdynamic lines tend to deteriorate the skin, appear to “age” the person, and potentially lower their self-esteem.
Traditionally, lines appearing on the forehead (frown lines), between the eyes, around the eyes (crow’s feet), and across the bridge of the nose (bunny lines) are the most common areas to be treated for aesthetic reasons. But new uses for this remarkable medication have expanded to include other uses that are vitally important to dentists.
Headaches, facial pain and temporomandibular disorders (TMD), tooth grinding (bruxism), “gummy smiles” (where the gums are too prominent when smiling or where one side of the lip does not rise as much as the other side, giving a lopsided smile)—these problems are easily solved with a less invasive method, such as cosmetic injections.
Dermal Fillers
Similar to cosmetic injections, dermal fillers can make a significant change to your smile.
As we age, the skin loses elasticity, volume, and structural support. These lead to the formation of deep lines, grooves, and folds, especially around the mouth. In addition, our lips begin to lose volume and become thinner and less well defined. Lines are formed by skin folds commonly running between the nose, mouth, and chin. These furrows are among the first to appear on the aging face.
These, together with lip enhancements, are the primary areas treated by dermal fillers to improve facial aesthetics.
Dermal fillers are a temporary treatment method that provides immediate results for eliminating facial lines. They consist of a substance that naturally occurs in our bodies and is therefore broken down by natural means. They are also hypoallergenic.
Dermal fillers can also be used to easily and safely correct some spaces between teeth. Until now, this has been a more difficult problem to correct.
